Preparing Your Site For Installation
Clearing Work Areas
Dust covers save sensitive stock. Before our team enters with mastic guns and fire batts, you should remove clutter from riser cupboards, plant rooms, and false ceiling voids. When delivering commercial fire protection in Birmingham, we often find service risers blocked by forgotten cardboard boxes or spare office desks. Clearing these access points prevents delays. It also stops gypsum grit settling over computer servers or clean stock stored in adjacent rooms.
Coordinating With Trades
Plumbers and electricians leave gaps. If an air duct or a bundle of data cabling goes through a partition after the sealant is applied, that seal is broken. The entire barrier must be rebuilt. We ask that all pipework, ducting, and wiring runs finish before our crews close the openings with intumescent compounds and collars. A quick walk around the floorboards with your site supervisor keeps trades from stepping on wet sealants or disturbing newly fitted mineral wool slabs.
